Style AND substance 🙌🏼 A winning combo from one of my 2019 hitlist spots today - did you guess? It was.... @27.elliotts home of possibly the most Instagrammed eggs of 2018 in the 'burgh?! Sadly I couldn't have the eggs this time but @foodjess kindly assured me they'll still be on the menu when I can have eggs again! Have you been yet? This curry looks pretty meaty but it was actually just aubergine & broccoli in a red thai curry sauce. I always keep Mae Ploy curry pastes in my fridge & a couple of cans of coconut milk in the larder to throw together a quick but D-licious meal at the last minute. I've been in a blog slump for a little while now, but Instagram is picking back up again, the nights are getting lighter and I've finally worked out the formula for my dinner photos not to look like a big steaming pile of 💩 & there seems to be lots of new faces round here so here's a little about me... I'm Kim and last year I bought a flat, had a baby and turned 30 so not sure how this year is going to top that one. If I could only eat one cuisine for the rest of my life it would be Thai; if I could only listen to one album for the rest of my life it would be Dummy by Portishead and if I could only watch one TV show for the rest of my life it would have to be Sex and the City. I'm currently dairy and egg free as my baby is intolerant so I've not (knowingly) had any of the good stuff since September. Inspired by @feeding_little_ones I'm thinking of starting to share more of our dinners & weekly meal plans. It's one of the things I find most stressful about being an adult - thinking of something to eat for dinner every night. Until we had the baby I'd just go to the shop everyday and decide what to have there and then depending on what I fancied but you do have to be a little more organised with a wee one so I now do a weekly food shop with 6 or 7 meals planned out for the week. One thing I always struggle to use up is lettuce - leaves or otherwise. I tend to buy it for one thing (in this case it was a post Christmas prawn cocktail which I made when we got home from Brighton cos it ain't Christmas without a prawn cocktail, ideally 70s style (I made it with vegenaise)) and then it's left to wilt in the fridge drawer. This one was pretty flaccid (excellent word) already but I was loathe to throw it out so I cut it up into wedges and threw it on a hot pan with some stir fry oil & chilli flakes as a side to my tamarind and lime noodles for lunch.
