If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
For me, if there was an island dedicated to food on which the sun shone and was a stone’s throw from the city…oh wait! There is such an island!
Paper Island is the former paper storage unit that sits opposite Copenhagen’s playhouse. It’s home to a food market which is a delight and assault on the senses.
With so many choices, we did a thrice round recce and up and down between the carts several times before making our decisions.
There wasn’t one face in that place that was glum despite the fact that there was a torrential downpour outside.
It’s one of those gems which you need to experience for yourselves but if I had to pick a highlight it would be the Tom Kha soup from the little Thai (freshly made to order, worth the wait) and the tempura prawns from the Japanese stall which were so yummy and served with a delicious sauce.
Every culture and country you could think of is catered for and couldn possibly now be one of my favourite places on earth…
Edinburgh, sort yerself out and get one please.
