Weekly round up of what I’ve been eating and where, for those who are interested!
Firstly, can I just say: SUMMER IS HERE 🙌🏼 Stanley and I have been enjoying the summer low tides on our morning walks – it’s so beautiful when it’s sunny!
It’s been a gooooood food week
Amazing pop-up from Polygon up at seven dials on their opening night with Baby Bao kitchen. See my full review here
Saturday night was mezze / party food at my friend’s house, accompanied by the world’s shittest scary film (The Witch, don’t waste any of your precious life on it) but we had cocktail sausages and Camembert, so y’know, not all bad.
On Sunday we took my boyfriend’s Granny (who is 93 and an absolute cutie) down to Pebbles on the Port for some pub grub. This gigantic plate cost £6.95 – the Smokey Robinson burger with cheese, bacon and onion rings. It was pure cash and carry chic but I loved it, especially for that price!
Sunday night we tried out Murasaki Bento on Montpelier Place. Full review to follow, so keep your eyes peeled 👀
Lunches this week have been 🍳 I got some bargain half price eggs that were ‘out of date’ – still alive to tell the tale. We need to stop being scared of BBE dates!
Mish-mash-delish dinner. Using up random stuff from the fridge this was pretty successful – roasted butternut squash, mushrooms, onions with pancetta and halloumi with pesto Mayo dressing 👌🏼
Rounding off the week with crispy beef massaman curry. I’ve never really been into beef (apart from mince / burgers) so I’m trying to make myself like it. This was really yummy so I think I’m on my way to liking it! That said, I totally get why my mum said that I didn’t like it as a kid cos I was too lazy to chew it – there’s definitely some truth in that!
And now I’m off to Scotland, to the motherland, for a long weekend for my little sisters’ birthdays and to meet two of my oldest friends’ babies who were born a few weeks ago. Excited is an understatement. Had to leave this poor wee lamb behind …
